2010 Goals

Saturday, January 02, 2010
Ah yes, the obligatory beginning of the calendar year, what do I hope to accomplish for myself posting. Sorry to be so predicatble, but this does keep me somewhat honest.  Here are the goals for the year:
  1. Start wholesaling patterns to LYSes in the NC/VA/TN/SC area, with the aim of gradually expanding outside the immediate region.  I don't really know how to do this, but I'm going to start by the end of the month.
  2. Expand the pattern catalog to 36 patterns by June 30th.  I'm currently at 30.  I'd like to stick to a pace of 12 patterns a year self-published.
  3. Submit 6 patterns to magazines, get 2 published.
  4. Submit 4 patterns to the KnitPicks Independent Designer Program and have 2 accepted.
  5. Complete all the current WIPs (there are 6, I think).
  6. Participate in at least 9 months of PhatFiber boxes.  January is bookmarks!
  7. Knit something for each member of the immediate family, including myself.
  8. Complete one gift a month.
  9. Complete two baby hats or one chemo cap a month (or other community knitting project of similar size).
  10. Join the Association of Knitwear Designers.
And non-knitting or design goals:
  1. Lose the rest of the baby weight and keep it off (note: not the weight from the most recent pregnancy; the weight from the previous two!).  It's about 18 pounds.
  2. Clean out my house and give stuff to Goodwill or the ABC Sale.
  3. Clean out the garage. Ditto above.
  4. Actually harvest veggies from the garden, not just plant them.
  5. Figure out my next career step. Library management or info science research/teaching?
  6. Go out to Oregon to see Parallel (how does April sound, over our spring break?).
  7. Get the roof replaced.

How cool that you have voting buttons on the bottom of your post (I voted "cool" of course). And very cool that every year you publicly state and account for your resolutions!

April would work - we're happy to see you any time :D. We'll probably be going to Boston in May, and maybe on sabbatical in late summer (need to figure out timing)

We love Malcolm's toddler hat, by the way - it fits great and is so warm and fleecy. It gets lots of compliments out and about, too :) Thank you!

I'm still lugging weight around from the second pregnancy - but have lost all the weight gained from the third. Still can't figure out how that happened.

    Good luck with your goals!
